Since 1997, Cardinals Care has supported kids by building youth ballfields, supporting youth baseball/softball, and funding children’s organizations and youth agencies. Over $23 million has been distributed to help kids, primarily in the areas of health, education, mentoring, cultural arts, and recreation.
Cardinals Care started Redbird Rookies in 2004, which is a free, noncompetitive, coed baseball/softball program for youth ages 5-13. Redbird Rookies works to instill the values of teamwork, integrity, self-esteem and leadership in the “classroom” of a baseball setting. Cardinals Care also provides leadership in building partnerships between Redbird Rookies and non-profit organizations that support kids in the areas of health, education, mentoring, and cultural arts. Entering its 15th year, Redbird Rookies annually serves around 3,500 participants across all its leagues.
